The Mighty Filberts: Music
Oregon, You Are My Home (C) 2007

I wrote this song for my school children because I find the official Oregon State Song to be inappropriate for school children to sing. I wanted my students to learn a song that celebrated the beauty of our state.
I brought eight of my very best students to the recording studio to sing on the chorus.

Oregon, You Are My Home
Mountains that beckon to heaven
Oceans with emerald foam.
*Rivers that roar on the green valley floor
Oregon, you are my home
You are my home,
You are my home
*Rivers that roar on the green valley floor
Oregon, you are my home
The pioneers came for your beauty
Your prairies, the Indians roamed
*There's desert sand to the east of your land
Oregon, you are my home
CHORUS
Eagles fly through your canyons
And soar over volcano domes
*Salmon swim free on their way to the sea
Oregon, you are my home
CHORUS
Oregon, you are my homeland
and no matter where else I roam
*My heart will be near your evergreen trees
Oregon, you are my home.
CHORUS
